Wreck claims life of business owner

Dougherty County - 68-year old Alvin Lamar Harvey, owner of Harvey Drilling Company, was driving a front-end loader South on Highway 19 near the Mitchell County line when a fuel tanker rear-ended him.

The front-end loader flipped and Harvey was thrown off and killed. The driver of the tanker, 30-year old Harley Morris Johnson of Camilla was taken to the hospital for observation.

Southboud traffic on the busy road had to be blocked for more than an hour. Charges are pending.
