Cairo-- Property taxes in Grady County may be on the rise.
Grady County commissioners have tentatively agreed to raise the rate to 10.752 mills, 7.63 percent above the rollback. That would mean almost $100.00 more in property taxes per year on a $100,000.00 dollar home.
Officials say the increase would help pay for, among other things, much needed remapping of the county.
Three public hearings will be held on the tax increase next Thursday and August 18th.
