Rams ready for camp

August 2, 2005

Albany - The Albany State football team has alot of work ahead of them this August.

Coach Mike White has to find seven starters on both the offense and seven omdefense before the Rams play their first game three weeks from Saturday.

The work got started Tuesday afternoon when the Albany State football team reported for the start of fall camp.

Head coach Mike White as he does every year, made every player stand up and introduce himself and tell the team his goals.

Virtually every player in the room, even freshmen and transfers, said their goal was to win the NCAA Division II national championship.

Albany State came within two wins of a national title last season and coach White told his players in the first meeting of the season that even though most of the players from last year's team are gone, the goal for the Golden Rams has not changed.

MikeWhite said "We tried again to set the tone and make them understand what is at stake. We are hoping to repeat and they have alot of work ahead of them."

Albany State hits the practice field on Thursday and their first game is August 27th at Miles College.
