Albany -The Dougherty High Trojans have a new sense of confidence after their first winning season in three years.
But head coach Carror Wright is worried his team may be too confident.
Carror Wright siad "It is tough trying to get these kids to keep their feet on the ground when they have got a few people who are in the program and they had a little success last year."
It is hard not to be optimistic at Dougherty with senior quarterback Ronnye Nelson
Wright said "We are going to go as far as Ronnye will take us. He is class guy, class act on and off the field and a good player but we need to get him some help."
And C. Wright is hoping that help will come from senior running back Xavier Cheever.
Wright said "He had a couple of games that he didn't play as well as we thought he should but we are going to need that and some more out of him this year."
The defense looks solid for the Trojans with end Robert Sanders, linebacker Adrian Murrell and cornerback Tay Love.
The only question is can the Trojans survive their region and non-region schedules.
Wright said "You talk about playoffs, I just hope we can win a couple of ball games."
C. Wright's second season at Dougherty begins on the road against his former school Northeast Macon on August 19th.
