Thomasville-- As part of a national event, the Thomasville Police Department is joining forces with the community to improve relations.

It's holding an event in Paradise Park Tuesday night. More than 22 million people across the country will participate in National Night Out.

The celebration in Thomasville starts at six and goes until eight. The theme is "unity in the community." Police set up booths to educate people on a variety of topics including theft prevention and child safety. There will also be food, games, and live music.
