Lee County-- A Lee County husband and wife were found shot to death inside their home this morning, in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

Sixty-one-year-old Gary Luper and 59-year-old Gloria Luper were found dead inside a bedroom of the their home on Old Stage Road, off Highway 32, about a half mile east of Leesburg.

The Lupers owned Albany Furniture and Pawn Shop, and after they didn't show up for work yesterday and today, their employees called the Lee Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Gloria Luper dead in a chair in the bedroom. She had been shot three times with a 9 millimeter pistol.

Her husband's body was on the floor nearby, with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators found a 9 millimeter pistol under his body.

Investigators say that Mr. Luper had been in poor health, and while they cannot confirm murder-suicide at this time, it appears to be that at this point.

They'll know more after autopsies are done Wednesday.
