Lake Park - Children in Lowndes County are sending messages of support and hope to members of the 48th Brigade.

These kids are taking part in Life Steps community outreach camp in Lake Park this week. Tuesday, they signed a banner and wrote letters to the soldiers.

Sergeant Jack Davis, who was with the 48th Brigade for 30 years, told the kids about his experiences with the Guard and encouraged them to support their local military. "We look forward to mail call, a letter from home is great because a lot of those guys don't have much family," said Davis.

The Life Steps camp is put on each year by King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church.
