Albany-- Former Albany City Commissioner Henry Mathis will be sentenced in September.
In June, a jury convicted him of extortion and lying to investigators. Mathis was kicked off the Albany City Commission and could face more than four years in federal prison.
His attorney plans to appeal, but will likely wait until Mathis is sentenced.
The sentencing is set for Thursday, September 1st.
