Slow down for school zones

August 1, 2005

Albany - Most south Georgia students will head back to school this week, so drivers need to watch out for kids and slow down in school zones.

The speed limit in school zones is 25 miles per hour between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning and 3:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon. Fines are doubled if you're caught speeding in those zones.

Lt. Tracey Barnes said, "There will be a zero tolerance, so anyone caught speeding in those zones will be cited."

Dougherty County students go back to school Wednesday August 3, 2005.
