Worth County- Thirty year old Specialist Gus Brunson was one of four members of the 48th Brigade who were killed Sunday when a roadside detonated near their Humvee.
Joshua Reynolds was friends with Brunson for more than 16 years. He is one of several people who have created a scrapbook entitled Memories of Gus. It's a collection of stories and letters from family and friends.
"He was the best friends anybody could ask for, and I didn't consider him a friend, I considered him a brother. He was a true hero. He died fighting for his country, but mainly he died fighting for his kids," says Reynolds.
Reynolds is also creating a video of hundreds of pictures taken by Brunson while he was in Iraq. There will be a farewell bonfire at Reynolds house in Sumner Friday night at 8:30. He lives at 164 South Sumner Road.
Anyone with stories or pictures to contribute to the scrapbook email them to Joshua Reynolds at stryder95@yahoo.com. The subject of emails should be "Memories of Gus."
