Burglars caught on surveillance video

July 25, 2005

Albany -- Albany Police want you to take a look at surveillance tape photos of a store break-in that took place over the weekend, to see if you can identify the burglars.

The surveillance video shows four men, breaking into the Petro Convenience Store on Briarwood Road in East Albany about Two A.M. Saturday morning. The four have shirts tied over their faces.

One man hammers on the store door, trying to break it in, while the others keep watch. Several times they get scared and run away.

Finally they break into the store, but before they steal anything, they run away. Lt. Tracey Barnes said "Once they got inside, something scared them off before they could actually commit a theft. But that constitutes a burglary when they broke in."

Saturday afternoon the four come back to the store, wearing the same clothes, this time without their masks.

The men check the doors to see where they broke in, and then leave. If you have any information about these four burglars, call the Albany Police at 431-3288.
