Albany - The South Georgia Wildcats are playing for pride in their final two weeks of the Arena 2 season.
Head coach Donnie Davis will be playing for rights Saturday night in Macon.
That is because Macon head coach Derek Stingley is a former teammate and in recent weeks mentor to Donnie Davis.
In fact when Davis was hired as the Wildcats coach five weeks ago, Derek Stingley was one person he sought for advice on his new job.
Like Davis, Stingley was hired by Macon in the middle of the 2005 AF2 season and he has turned the Knights around.
Macon has won four of their last five games and have clinched a playoff berth.
Donnie Davis is wanting to do the same in South Georgia and hopes to take a big step towards that goal by beating his good friend Saturday night.
Donnie Davis said "A great guy and he has gotten that program turned around in the right direction. And that is what I am looking to do here. I have learned a lot from him. He has helped me a lot actually since I have been here but now actually on game day it is going to be a different story."
The South Georgia Wildcats conclude the 2005 season on July 30th at home against Green Bay.
