Albany- For children who are victims of crimes, a trial can be a trying and emotional experience they must live through.

That's why the Dougherty County District Attorney's office and DFACS makes sure they stay in touch with those children after trials. Friday, they treated them to a cookout luncheon at Chehaw Park.

"We worked with them through some very traumatic events in their lives," said Greg Edwards, chief assistant in the District Attorney's office. "The time that we spent with them was involved with the bad things. We just want to have some fun and do some good things."

Many of these children are victims of child molestation and physical abuse.
