Thomasville-- The Thomasville / Thomas County drug squad is getting busy as summer enters full swing.

Agents say they watched suspected meth cooker and dealer, Kendall Maxwell, for one day at a local motel before moving in. When they did, they found several grams of meth. Maxwell has been charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute.

Agents have also arrested Donna Carter for possession of meth. They say the 44 year old had some hidden in a makeup container in her house. Agents add that they've noticed meth use on the rise in younger people as well.  "We even approached some subjects in a motel room ranging from 16 years old to 22 years old and each one admitted to using methamphetamine," says squad commander, Kevin Lee.

Agents say they're also making more marijuana busts now that summer has arrived. Merle Thompson was arrested for having more than a pound of pot ready to sell. He has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
