Albany - Georgia Southern players will report for fall camp in two weeks.
Head coach Mike Sewak led the Eagles to a share of the Southern Conference crown in 2004 and the goal in Statesboro every summer is to win the Division 1-AA national chamipionship.
The big task for Sewak in camp is to name a starting quarterback.
The battle for that job is down to Jayson Foster and Darius Smiley.
A first year starter at quarterback would make any head coach nervous but some good nerve medicine for Sewak is preseason all-American Jermaine Austin is back at fullback and so is his backup Brandon Andrews.
Andrews saw a lot of action last year when Austin suffered an ankle injury against Georgia.
And coach Sewak says the secret to the success of both players is that Austin and Andrews are both committed to winning.
Sewak said "I always tell my team that you have guys who are committed and guys who are going to contribute. You want more committed guys than you want contributors. Because those guys who contribute, they will just hang around until it is there turn. Guys who are committed they are going to keep doing it all the time. Those two guys back there are going to do it all the time ."
Georgia Southern will being practice on August 9th and the first game is a tough road trip to Northeastern on September 3rd.
