Tift County-Thirty-four year old Wanda Hampton has an active warrant in Fitzgerald for probation violation that dates back to October 2003. Tifton police also took out a warrant on her for felony theft by conversion in March of 2004.
Hampton was charged with obstruction without force after she sped away from state troopers Thursday morning. She was riding in the SUV when her husband, Jimmy Lee Hampton, was stopped for having a broken tail light.
Jimmy Hampton then took off on foot into a wooded area along Carpenter Road, but was captured that evening. He also has warrants in several other counties including one for family violence child molestation out of Turner County.
