High schools battle for blood

July 13, 2005

Valdosta - Two South Georgia high schools are battling for blood.

The American Red Cross is hosting the fifth annual Summer Blood Bash between Lowndes and Valdosta High Schools. So far, Lowndes is winning the blood battle.

The Red Cross is asking students, faculty, parents, and fans to come in and donate blood in honor of their favorite team. "The highest goal we've ever had was 144 units and we're hoping to exceed that this year," said Robbin Miller.

The blood bash ends Saturday.

The Albany donor center is also hosting a competition between all Dougherty County high schools and Deerfield Windsor.
