South Georgia-- A boil water order is in effect for thousands of people in Colquitt, Dougherty, and Worth Counties.
Officials says private wells that have been flooded or near areas that were flooded may be contaminated. If the water looks cloudy, muddy, or tastes different is should be considered contaminated and homeowners should use bottled water.
If the water is clear, residents should boil water for two minutes before using it. Public health officials will test your well.
