Colquitt County - Last week, more than 600 South Georgians were given skin tests for Tuberculosis, after an employee at Colquitt Regional Medical Center developed an active case of the disease. More than 2000 people were sent letters requesting they get tested.
Testing positive does not mean that a person has active TB or that he or she will ever develop the disease. Those who tested positive will now undergo a chest X-ray to determine if treatment is necessary.
