Man dies when camper collides with semi

July 11, 2005

Cordele- A man was killed on Interstate 75 in Crisp County when his truck and his camper became tangled with a tractor trailer.

The Ford F-150 and the camper and a tractor trailer were both traveling north on Interstate 75 and collided around one this afternoon. They wrecked under the overpass on exit 102 in Cordele. The man driving the truck died and his wife was injured.

"There was a passenger in the Ford," said Trooper Ronald Warren, Post 30 Commander. "That person, a female, was transferred to Crisp Regional Hospital for injuries. We don't know the extent of those injuries at this time."

The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt. No charges have been filed, but the wreck is still under investigation. The wreck did stall traffic on Interstate 75 in both directions for hours, but the interstate is back open.
