Albany- It was lights outs for nearly 2,600 people Sunday night. Quick moving storms pulled trees down on power lines, leaving more than 1,300 people in the Palmyra area without power.

Georgia Power says, power to those residents was to be restored before midnight Sunday. Many businesses along Westover Avenue were also left powerless.

A mechanical failure was to blame for darkening homes in the Doublegate area. Power was restore to those residents just before ten Sunday night. Residents in Lee County were also left powerless in the storms.
