Albany-- Friday night, students graduated from the Ritz Cultural Center Summer Enrichment Program.
The six-week program uses the arts to teach kids in pre-K through high school about themselves and other cultures. Teachers say it's a fun way to keep young people away from negative influences.
This is the 13th year of the program and the first time more than 100 students participated.
"I'm very excited about it. It lets us know that we're doing something right and Lord willing, next summer we're looking for those numbers to double," says Director Jeannette Walker.
After the summer program ends, the cultural center offers a free after-school program for kids and a Saturday enrichment program for high-schoolers.
