Store for sweet stripes closes doors

June 30, 2005

Albany- Albany has said goodbye to the Bobs Candy Factory Outlet.

Thursday was the last day the outlet on Oakridge was open. A Minnesota candy company,Farley & Sathers, recently bought Bobs Candies and decided to close the outlet.

The store was busy this afternoon with customers stopping in to stock up on sweet stripes and peppermint sticks.

"I always come by here, at least about twice a week," said Remus Dykes, leaving the store with a bag full of peppermint. "That's all I eat is like peppermint instead of chocolate candy, so I came just to get as many as I can."

On July 9th, a new business called the Candy Outlet will open in the same location.
