Albany- Phoebe Putney hospital turned one of their parking lots into a watermelon patch for the Fourth of July. Thursday and Friday, the hospital is passing out more than two thousand watermelons to Phoebe Putney employees as a thank you.

Thursday cars snaked through the parking lot to pick up the fresh melons.

"We're near the Watermelon capitol of the world, it's right across the street in Cordele and so we know everybody loves a big, juicy, nutritious, healthy watermelon," said Darrell Sabbs, Phoebe Putney Hospital.

Phoebe Putney Hospital employees more than 3,400 workers.
