Albany-- Dougherty County Commissioner Brenda Robinson Cutler was indicted Wednesday. She's accused of stealing money from disabled clients of the Albany Advocacy Resource Center.

She's beloved among her fellow commissioners. Thursday some of them, including Jack Stone, said they were shocked to hear the news. "Brenda is a friend of mine. We've worked real close over the years, and I just hope and pray that what we're hearing is not true," Stone said.

Stone said the county commission will continue business as usual with or without Cutler. Cutler wouldn't comment on the charges. Her attorney, Eddie Meeks, said he couldn't talk about the situation until he knew if he was going to handle the case for good.
