Valdosta-- A former Valdosta city councilman and his wife are indicted for fraud and theft of federal funds. Bunnis and Alma Williams are accused of using $101,000 from federal funding programs for personal use.
The money was meant for Eastside Training Academy, the Williams' non-profit business that offers child day care and welfare programs for senior citizens.
Bunnis Williams served on the Valdosta city council from 1985 until 2002. In 2003, he was given 10 years of probation, 400 hours of community service, and $7,500 in fines, for absentee ballot fraud.
