Jackpot sits, waits on winner to claim prize

June 20, 2005

Americus- Someone in south Georgia could be $9 million richer.

No one has come forward yet with a winning ticket bought in Americus. Lottery officials confirmed that a ticket matching all 6 numbers in Saturday's Lotto South drawing was sold in Americus. They won't say at what outlet.

Some people say they don't blame the winner for not claiming the money yet.

"I think I'd wait to the last minute because I wouldn't want anybody to know I had that much money right now," said Mario Tyner, who lives in Americus.

The winning numbers were 06, 07, 12, 13, 31 and 42. The winner has 180 days to come forward and claim the winnings.
