Cordele-- Crisp County celebrated their 100th birthday on the waters of Lake Blackshear.
The Crisp County Centennial Committee sponsored a Southern Water Ski show at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park. Professional water skiers from Columbus made their way to the water performing everything from flipping to weightboarding and barefoot water skiing.
"It's a good reason to get together and it's a good athletic sport that hopefully you don't incur a lot of injuries," says skier Marty Flournoy.
"We're really coming into the swing of it right now. This is our June event, the water ski show," says Crisp County Centennial Chair Carol Anne Moore.
Activities on Saturday were part of a 12-month long celebration for Crisp County. Next month, T Gray and Brown will come to town with his homecoming concert as well as a parade.
