Lowndes County - Some South Georgia youngsters earn top honors in the rodeo arena.

Students at K.B. Horse Camp recently competed in the Southern Junior Rodeo Association Finals. They brought home two dozen awards in barrel racing, goat typing, pole bending, and sportsmanship.

The cowgirls and cowboys spend the whole year training for the big event. "We really practice, every day, you have 14 rodeos before the finals and you just have to practice really hard," said Vicky Merriman.

The kids on the K.B. Horse Camp rodeo team range in age from seven to 13 years old. They practice about five days a week.
