Valdosta - Valdosta's Dori Carter has qualified to play in the U.S. Women's Open next week in Cherry Hills, Colorado.
The Valdosta High graduate shot rounds of 74 and 70 to win a USGA sectional qualifier Tuesday in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Carter beat out several LPGA tour members as only the top two scores in the sectional qualifier advance to the U.S. Women's Open.
Her caddy in Colorado will be Valdosta Country Club professional Rob Williams.
Dori Carter will play for the University of Mississippi on a golf scholarship starting this fall.
