Moultrie - By Tuesday afternoon more than 600 people had applied for jobs at Sanderson Farms. The company is looking to hire about 1400 people for the Moultrie processing plant.
Career Center Manager Demishia Croft says, "Of course, it's going to affect the unemployment rate tremendously. We anticipate that it's going to help Colquitt County, but also the surrounding counties."
Starting pay is $7.05. Sanderson Farms will be accepting applications all month at 606 1st Avenue Southeast from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and 8 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday and Thursdays.
