Americus --- Forty-eight--year-old Altha Major of Americus died when her car hit logs that fell from a truck.
State troopers said around 8:00 Monday morning a truck driven by James Wilson was head south on U. S. 19 when the load shifted on a curve, and the logs spilled onto the highway.
Major's vehicle was northbound and struck the logs. A second vehicle also hit the logs, but no one was seriously injured.
No charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation.
