Albany- From now on, the public will take care of all Albany police matters at the new three-story home of the department. It's located at the corner of Washington and Oglethorpe.
Friday morning, officers held their first muster in the new headquarters.
"This building is going to be user-friendly to the public, advanced in technology, so we're hoping that this will help us to improve upon our service to the community," says Lt. Kenn Singleton.
Once the old Albany police headquarters is cleared out, it will be converted to county offices. The department will hold an official grand opening ceremony on June 29th.
