Albany-- Thanks to three area organizations and the dreams of the East town community, a new gymnasium was unveiled today.
The Boys and Girls Club of Albany, Girls Inc, and the East Town Civic League united in their efforts provide area youngsters with a new gymnasium and give the East Town community a place to for meetings, family reunions and community projects.
"We are so proud we are coming together after all. Everybody is trying to bring the community together and this is what it is all about," says East Town Civic League President Johnnie Pearl Hammond.
The project was funded by the City of Albany through the Department of Community Development.
