Sylvester- There has been a changing of the guards at one of Sylvester's oldest businesses.

Shepard Funeral home has been open for more than 80 years, and Thursday a celebration was held for it's third owner.

Therman Walker says he won't change the name, but plans to put more of an emphasis on community outreach and education about preparing for death.

The funeral home is holding a back-to-school rally on July 23rd from 10 AM to 5 PM. There will be a band, food, and activities. School supplies will be given to all children who attend.
