Albany-- The Marine Corps has identified the Marine found dead in an Albany hotel Tuesday.

The body of 28-year-old Sergeant Michael Carlson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was discovered Tuesday morning about 10:00. He was in a second floor room at the Holiday Inn next to the Albany Mall.

Sgt. Carlson was on temporary duty at the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base, as a member of the Readiness Acceptance Check team. He was assigned to the Third Assault Amphibian Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California.

Investigators say the cause of Sgt. Carlson's death is still under investigation, but it is likely an accidental death.
