Albany-- The South Georgia Wildcats added another local player to their roster Monday. The Wildcats signed former Albany State center Rodney Magwood to a contract, which will be processed by the league Tuesday morning.
Magwood was a two time first team All-SIAC selection and earned a trip to the Cactus Bowl his senior season at ASU. He replaces Jason Perry, who left the team to concentrate on his full-time job in Atlanta.
South Georgia receiver Matt Burstein is this week's FordTown Player of the week. The reigning offensive player of the year in the AF2 reeled in 11 catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns in the Wildcats loss Saturday. Burstein is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Florida Firecats.
Head coach Chris Siegfried also said that quarterback Bobby Pesavento is doubtful with a sprained knee, receiver Antwan Savage is day to day with a sprained hamstring and offensive specialist Kevin Beard is out with a severely sprained ankle.
