Albany-- Phoebe Putney is spending the weekend raising money for children and they need your help.

Saturday kicked off the 9th Annual Children's Miracle Network telethon. The National telethon is held by 170 hospitals nationwide. All money raised benefits premature babies and children that have disabilities. Organizers say donations are very important for kids currently in the hospital as well as any future patients.

"I tell you why I'm thankful, because I have two little girls and thank God they're healthy but you never know when you may need a hospital for your child," says Executive Director for the Phoebe Foundation Tom Sullivan.

There is no set goal for this weekend but all money raised here in South Georgia benefits local children.
