Tifton- A Waycross man who led police on an 80 mile long chase was under the influence of drugs. Thirty one year old Travis White powered the semi at speeds of 80 miles per hour along busy Highway 82 in Tift County Friday.

White confessed to being under the influence of cocaine during the pursuit from Waycross to Tifton. He has been transferred to Ware County where he faces several counts of armed robbery.

The Georgia State Patrol in Tifton is charging White with driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the roadway in a commercial vehicle, fleeing and attempting to allude, and running a red light.
