Valdosta - A South Georgia police officer is injured in a car crash while on duty.

Valdosta Police Officer Eugene Bell the third was driving down North Oak Street Monday night when he hit a car pulling out from West Mary Street. His car spun around and hit the side of a house.

Bell was on his way to help another officer with a traffic stop. Witnesses say he didn't have on his emergency lights or siren.

"We are still investigating to see who was at fault but if we do find that our officer was at fault, we will cite him," said Captain Brian Childress.

Officer Bell suffered a concussion but has been released from the hospital. The driver of the car he hit wasn't injured.
