Albany-- A lot of you took to the water for the Memorial Day weekend. There was plenty of sunshine and calm waters for a day on the lake.
Boaters at Lake Chehaw enjoyed the water and good fellowship. They say the lake and holiday weekends go hand in hand.
"We're just out here today having a little good time. Trying to meet a few friends out on the water. Just trying to enjoy our day off here on Memorial Day," says boater William Goodwin.
Those who weren't on the water for the holiday could probably be found grilling. C-and-B Tours from Valdosta brought a whole bus load of people to the Parks at Chehaw for a day full of grilling in the park.
There was fun for the kids and adults as they made Memorial Day family day.
"We're out here just kind of grilling out. We have the whole family here today and we're cooking ribs, chicken, sausage, baby back ribs, porkchops," says griller Calvin Berrian.
A little bit of everything. Berrian says grilling in the park is a southern tradition.
