Albany-- The Albany Day Lily Society held their 24th Annual Day Lily Show and competition on Saturday. The flowers only live for about 24 hours so the judging has to be pretty fast.

Lillies of all shapes, sizes and colors were there. With such a variety, growing them can be a habit-forming hobby.

"If you get one, then you want the next one and there's over 30,000 registered day lillies so anytime you get one, you want another one and you see one prettier," says Diane Barnett.

Lillies are judged on about five different things including grooming, branching and color. The ones with 95 points or more end up on the head table.
