Birmingham, Al. - University of Tennessee pitcher Chris Howell of Fitzgerald is the Volunteers representative on the Southeastern Conference's Baseball Good Works Team.
The SEC's good works program honors student athletes for their work in the community.
Howell, who played at Tiftarea Academy, was chosen for visiting patients at East Tennessee Children's Hospital and honoring academic achievers at a middle school in Knoxville.
Chris also has worked as a volunteer instructor for the Knox County Parks and Recreation Baseball and Softball Clinic and participated in the annual National Student Athlete Day which brings hundred of boys and girls club members to the University of Tennessee campus.
Georgia pitcher Will Startup was the Bulldogs representative to the SEC Baseball Good Works Team.
