Miller County athletes sign scholarships

Colquitt - Miller County ace Jason Bailey signed a scholarship with Georgia Southwestern State University on Thursday afternoon.

Bailey was the region 1-A co-player of the year this spring.

The southpaw was 12-2 with 180 strikeouts in 97 innings pitch.

Classmate Whitney Williams also signed a schlolarship.

The region 1-A player of the year in girls basketball is headed to play for Laura Blackwell at Darton College.

Williams was a four year starter for the Lady Pirates and averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds a game in her senior season.
