Man injured in drive by shooting

May 19, 2005

Albany - A drive by shooting in South Albany Wednesday night.

41 year old Nathaniel Mitchell was hit in the left shoulder by a bullet while sitting on his porch on Tulsa Lane. He is listed in good condition at a local hospital.

Police believe he was hit by a stray bullet from a drug deal that ended with shots being fired nearby. Albany Police Lt. Tracey Barnes said "When they got to the intersection of Tulsa and Gadsden, the driver of the vehicle hopped out and started shooting back at the other vehicle. And actually wound up hitting an innocent person sitting on a front porch."

Police are looking for 26 year old Larry Burton in the shooting.
