Sylvester- A Worth County elementary school teacher who cut herself with a piece of glass in front of her class has resigned.

Monday, WALB obtained the personnel file of Holley Elementary School third grade teacher Georgiann Harrell. She turned in her resignation letter May 11th effective at the end of the school year.

Right now, she's on paid leave.

Also Monday parents got a letter from the principal. They say it's the first information anyone from the school system has provided since the May 4th cutting incident.

The letter states adminstrators are, "taking this situation very seriously and are working with appropriate agencies to investigate the issues of concern."
