Albany--One of the most decorated athletes in GISA track and field history signed a college scholarship Monday afternoon. Deerfield-Windsor senior Jon Jon Taylor inked with Clayton State.
Taylor finished her high school career with an impressive 11 state titles, one state record, six school records and two high point trophies. Taylor chose Clayton State over Georgia State and says she has much bigger goals than just succeeding at the collegiate level.
"I'm try to go as far as I can in track. 2008 Olympics, I'd love to go to. So basically I'm just training and practicing to go as far as I can," Taylor said.
Taylor is believed to be the first athlete from Deerfield-Windsor to sign a college track scholarship.
