Albany - Employees at Cooper Tire in Albany will soon have the chance to vote on whether they want Union Representation. On April 27th a petition was filed with the National Labor Relations Board seeking a vote.

In order to hold an election, at lease 30% of employees must sign petition cards. An election will be held June 7th, though the NLRB will not say how many employees signed cards.

19 years ago, Firestone closed and left 2200 people without jobs. Strikes from unionized workers preceded the closings.

If you are an employee at Cooper who supports, or is against the idea of a Union coming to the Albany plant, and you are interested in an on camera interview, email karen.collier@walb.com
