Reward offered in shooting

Ben Hill County- Two weeks ago, Jimmy Merritt was home alone when he was shot in the head during what authorities say was an attempted robbery. He's in critical condition in a Macon hospital.

Sheriff Bobby McLemore says a friend is offering five thousand dollars to anyone who furnishes information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.

"We've been working around the clock on this since it happened. We've got a team of investigators working on it, and right now he was progressing somewhat until last night he had a blood clot from what I understand and it went to his heart and lungs and they lost him about three times, but they got him stabilized again," says Ben Hill County Sheriff Bobby McLemore.

If you have any information about the shooting contact the Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office.
