Valdosta - Special Olympians are gearing up for a state competition with a free shopping spree.

Students from Cook County will head to Perry in the fall for the state Special Olympics Rodeo. To prepare for the big event, they were treated to a shopping spree at Boot Hill Tuesday and outfitted from head to toe.

"We got shirts, pants, boots and a belt," said Stanley Flowers, Special Olympian.

"They went to a show and did real well, one of the teachers said they were real proud of them but they weren't dressed the part, so I told them I'd take care of that and I'd make sure they looked like cowboys and cowgirls," said Prissy Massingill, Special Olympics Volunteer.

The money for the shopping spree was donated by Boot Hill and several other businesses.
